Facilitated (non-traditional) haiku writing circle at Gardiner Library

January 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Gardiner Library presents facilitated (non-traditional) Haiku writing circle with Carol Bergman. This ten-week series starts Tuesday, January 10, 12-1 p.m. The cost is $100. A haiku is three simple lines. Writing haikus is a practice. It distills emotion, sharpens the mind and creates a sensation of mindfulness and serenity. There will be readings of Japanese and Western Haiku practitioners, prompts and sharing of drafts. All are welcome. You do not have to be a writer to practice haiku.
Bergman, a writing professor and journalist, is the co-owner of Mediacs, an independent publishing company in New Paltz.
For more information and online registration, visit www.gardinerlibrary.org. The library is located at 133 Farmer’s Turnpike in Gardiner.
