A rush of returning birds
May 5 @ 7:00 am - 12:00 pm
The John Burroughs Nature Sanctuary will hold its inaugural spring bird walk.
Explore the sanctuary in search of avian migrants during a peak week of spring migration in our region. Some are just stopping off to use the Nature Sanctuary to refuel and as a safe harbor on their migration north. For some species the Sanctuary is their final destination, a place to look for a mate and settle in to breed throughout the summer. This is the time when many of these birds are in their most brilliant courting colors.
Bird whisperer Mark DeDea has led previous spring warbler walks, excursions in search of summer breeding birds and walks to catch the fall migration. On May 5, he widens the outing to all spring migrating feathered pals.
Registration is required and participation is limited. Register at email@example.com.
