20th anniversary of the Earth Day Fair
April 22 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
On historic Huguenot Street. It is a free, family friendly, fun-filled, rain-or-shine event, with children’s activities, healthy food and live music. The theme is: The Ten Commitments: A Pathway to Sustainability.
Big Moe himself, in full regalia, will guide folks to meet energy experts in order to learn about insulation, solar electricity without panels, heat pumps, composting, plastic problems, electric vehicles and much more. Also there will be selected breakout speaker sessions.
Take a tour of the early 19th-century Reformed Church, which moved from a steam-driven oil furnace to an electric heat pump system. Flags of the United Nations will fly on Huguenot Street and the rail trail will feature ecological info signs. Come early at 10 a.m. for an hour-long nature/tree walk and a shorter walk later in the afternoon.
