Volunteer Drivers Needed To Transport Cancer Patients to Treatment

The American Cancer Society needs individuals who can volunteer one hour at least once a month to drive a cancer patient to a local cancer center in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan and Orange County. Locally, the greatest need is for drivers who can pick up patients at their home and take them to treatment — even one time once a month would be tremendously helpful, according to Patrice Lestrange Mack, Communications Director for the American Cancer Society. All drivers must have: A current, valid driver’s license, A good driving record, Access to a safe and reliable vehicle, Regular desktop, laptop, or tablet computer access, & Proof of car insurance.
